The whereabouts of a 20-year-old final-year student of Madonna University, Miss Rejoice Sarima Dike, is still unknown four days after she was declared missing by her parents.
The family of the missing student resides at Atali Farm Estate, Eneka, Obio-Akpo Local Government Area, a suburb of Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
According to her parents, Rejoice was sent out to buy kerosene on Thursday 5th of January 2023 at about 8 pm and has not been seen since then.
Kenneth Dike, the father of the missing girl said the family has been traumatized by the incident.
According to Dike: “They had prepared all belongings ready to return to school the next morning of Friday, January 6, only for them to remember that they had no kerosene for cooking.
‘She went to the first shop with her younger Sister where they were told that Kerosene was unavailable. They were directed to another shop. She asked the Sister to wait for her let dash across to buy the kerosene. That was the last time we saw or heard from her. Her phone has been switched off. We’ve been so devastated.”
Rejoice is said to be an active member of the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) of St. Matthias Anglican Church, Atali District in Evo Diocese in Rivers State.
