At the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, fans are anticipating a battle between Black Sherif and Piesie Esther, who are vying for the top reward. Piesie Esther has expressed her excitement about the support she is receiving to win Artist of the Year.
Remember that Piesie Esthe, Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi, and Joe Mettle are included in this year's Artist of the Year category.
This award is the most prestigious honor presented at the VGMAs. Piesie Esther asserts, contrary to what some critics believe, that she is not eager to receive acclaim because Christians and some evangelical leaders are pressuring her to win the top honor.
George Nii Armah Quaye believes the ongoing campaign centered on the aforementioned is skillfully designed to convince the VGMA Board that Piesie Esther is deserving of the prestigious award.
In an interview with Power FM and compiled by Tru News Report, Piesie Esther stated categorically that the accusation made by George Quaye cannot be accepted and added that she has no desire for an award.
"We are doing this to demonstrate to those who are concerned that we are impressed with what is occurring, and we would be pleased to triumph. The manner in which he stated it, however, gives the impression that we are desperate to succeed. I am not frantic, but I must win the award by any means necessary." Piesie Esther said.
She claims that she has already received the award from God on a spiritual level. She added that the campaign is a way for her to use her music to spread the Gospel, especially in areas where she may not be well-known.
