Infamously, a man murdered his wife on the property, but his subsequent attempt to commit suicide to avoid prosecution was unsuccessful.
Suspect Akwasi Brefo is presently battling for his life in the hospital after ingesting a suspected herbicide-laced liquid.
Brefo allegedly struck his wife Janet Yobo in the back with a weapon while she was laboring on the farm without provocation.
Brefo unexpectedly murdered Janet on May 22, 2023, around 11 a.m., while the man and his wife were working on the farm.
After committing the heinous crime, Brefo drank 'poison' in an attempt to terminate his life, but it did not work.
Local police are investigating the incident, which occurred in Mpasaso.
"On 22 May 2023 at approximately 1100 hours, it was alleged that Janet Yobo, now deceased, went to the farm with her husband, suspect Akwasi Brefo, to work. However, she was subsequently murdered by her husband in the Mpasaso forest.
"Police arrived at the crime scene approximately 5 kilometers from Mpasaso town, where they discovered the lifeless body of deceased Janet Yobo lying on her left side in a pool of blood, wearing a cream shirt over white pants and a green cloth across her bosom.
A police report from Mankranso District stated, "Examination of the body revealed a deep cut on the back of her head."
It was stated that the body was photographed by police and transported to the Mpasaso Health Centre, where the health authorities confirmed her death.
According to a police report seen by the newspaper, the deceased's corpse was transported to the Plus Lab Mortuary in Mankranso for preservation and autopsy.
The report concluded, "In the meantime, suspect Akwasi Brefo is currently admitted to the Mankranso Government Hospital after he allegedly ingested weedkiller."
