Okyeame Kwame has admitted to smoking marijuana while pursing a career in music.
Okyeame told Kwame Dadzie on Joy Prime that he had only smoked twice in his entire life, but he quit because it was a negative experience.
"I have inhaled marijuana twice in my lifetime. One, two. I didn't appreciate it. That's me. I desire consciousness. I wish to be conscious. I want to be aware of what is occurring around me. I want to experience my inner self. Therefore, I dislike everything that intoxicates me. "When I took it, I became sluggish, and then I began to experience hallucinations," he said.
He reiterated that he wishes to be deliberate and accountable for everything he does, denying that he was influenced by anyone or anything.
According to the vegetarian musician, one of the things he has abstained from is alcohol.
"I don't consume alcohol. I've tasted alcohol before, but if I were to pour all the alcohol I've consumed in 47 years into a single beer bottle, it would equal half of my existence. "I do not consume alcohol," Okyeame stated.

Regarding what maintains him young and healthy, he said that eating the right foods at the right time and exercising have been his secrets.
"My secret is that I get seven hours of sleep every night, and I do intermittent fasting in the morning, so when I wake up, I drink lemon or lime-infused water and wait until 10.30 or 11 a.m. to eat my main meal," he explained.
Kwame also mentioned that he has developed the habit of going to the gym and consuming his second meal at 5 p.m.
On his birthday (April 17, 2023), the 47-year-old posted a photo of himself wearing boxer shorts to promote his new boxer shorts brand.
He has stated that he is undeterred by the backlash, as what he did did not harm anyone or violate any laws, and that he is simply pleased with the publicity he received for the product.
