Rudolph Nana Kwame, better known in the entertainment industry as Nasty, a popular Ghanaian vocalist, has revealed that he has been a drug addict for 22 years and explains how it all began.

According to him, most Ghanaian boys' schools are infected with drugs. Nasty attended Adisadel College, where he began as a drug dealer and ultimately began using. Nasty disclosed in an exclusive interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV AFRICA that he 'graduated' from cigarettes to more addictive substances.

"It began with Adisco. I will mention not only Adisco, but all of the males' schools. Everything started with nicotine. Eventually, you'd need something more potent, so you'd attempt marijuana. By the time I realized it, I was already a captive.

I was a nobleman. I used to prepare it for traveling companions. I did not utilize it at the time. It was all about avarice. Once, before sending the parcel to someone, he requested that I sample it first. The following day, I wished to attempt it again. I was a third-grader. That's when I became dependent," he recalled.

The singer of 'Wo Sisi Ye Wo Ya' stated that substance addiction is spiritually based because addicts have no control over it. In addition, Nasty advised the youth, for their own safety, to avoid narcotics.

"It will make you more active, but it will also blind you to the world around you. (A new world) uncontrollable. It is a captive spirit. I am sharing my thoughts and feelings with you. After two years, individuals who have returned from rehabilitation relapse. I've been addicted to drugs for 22 years. Back then, I had the money, and it wasn't even from music."

Nasty mentioned that his family had brought him to multiple rehabilitation centers in Ghana, but none of them helped. According to him, he is alive because he is aware of his limitations and because he eats well. I am aware when I am becoming ill. I'm intent."

The musician indicated that rehabilitation is not an ideal solution for substance addicts. He stated that self-control is the only solution.

Nasty was a member of the musical ensemble Lifeline Family alongside hip-hop legends such as T-Blaze, Yogie Doggy, and Jay Dee. He collaborated with Kontihene, Daasebre, Yoogie Doggy, and others.
