In a statement signed and released in Accra on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in honor of this year's International Labor Day celebrations, Dr. Afriyie Akoto remarked, "I salute all Ghanaian employees for their enormous contribution to our nation's development. I have faith in the ability of our workforce to advance the progress of our nation.
International Labor Day, also known as May Day, is celebrated annually on May 1 throughout the globe. It is primarily observed to honor the struggles and achievements of laborers and the labor movement. It is also observed to raise awareness of the rights and opportunities that every laborer deserves for their welfare and advancement.
