I Will Launch A Vigorous Campaign Against Corruption When I'm Re-elected - John Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that, if re-elected, he will launch a vigorous fight against corruption.

In his opinion, corruption is a means by which individuals waste state resources.

In a speech to NDC delegates in Garu, Upper East Region, the NDC presidential candidate emphasized that any individual found engaging in corrupt practices under his administration will be punished regardless of party affiliation.

"When the NDC takes office, we will launch a vigorous campaign against corruption, as we are all aware that it is one of the country's major waste streams." People who steal state funds must be prosecuted and punished, and the NDC intends to do just that.

"It makes no difference whether the people are our own or from another party; we will ensure that the sword falls equally on anyone who steals the people's money."

Mr. Mahama also pledged to fix Akufo-Addo's problematic Free SHS policy and the National Health Insurance Scheme if re-elected in 2024.

"Free SHS is not functioning properly; parents are not receiving the benefit it is intended to provide." I can tell you today that the amount of money we expend on our children's education is significantly higher than when we paid school fees."

"We are going to repair and improve the free SHS, so that when school reopens, all the students will go to school together, and when they leave, they will all return home together."
