Mon, 9 Jan 2023 Source: CHRIS NEWS MEDIA

A married lady, Imolita (last name kept), has told the Extraordinary Offenses Court in Ikeja, Lagos State, how she was allegedly assaulted by a safety officer, Ibuchi Emmanuel, at a school where she filled in as a medical caretaker.

As indicated by her, she was on night duty on the day the episode occurred, while Emmanuel was likewise working that evening.

She said while she was headed to investigate the school’s facility before resigning to her work area, the respondent moved toward her and requested to see her sometime thereafter.

Imolita said that around 9 p.m., while she was in her work area, which had a bed close to it, the litigant thumped on the way to the room; however, she wondered whether or not to give him access.

She later let the respondent in after he mentioned L-ascorbic acid to her.

In the wake of giving him the medication, the 35-year-old said she offered Emmanuel a seat when he said he had been needing to express something to her.

As indicated by her, during their conversation, he proclaimed his love for her, and she answered that she was married with kids.

She said he then continued to drive himself on her and told her not to try shouting for help because nobody would hear her voice.

Lolita said, “I then let him know that I realize you are a man, however, I will battle you so you will not have the option to have your direction.” While we were hauling one another, he got worn out and was like, regardless of whether he planned to have intercourse with me, he had no strength left. I then, at that point, advised him to remove himself since I’m not a modest lady; he ought to proceed to search for single young ladies.”

She said Emmanuel consented to leave the room, but he adjusted his perspective and started taking action to kiss, contact, and remove her jeans, which she stood up to.

“He returned and pushed me. After he did, I attempted to kick him, but he snatched my legs. By then, at that point, I was lying on my back while he utilized his security boots to walk my legs. I began beseeching him to avoid what he needed to do, but he insisted that he make it happen.

“I inquired as to whether he had some awareness of the spot I came from. I advised him that I’m from Delta, and ladies from that state don’t meet different men once married. I kept on beseeching him and letting him know that his activity would cost me my marriage.

He said whatever would happen ought to occur. I advised him to hang on and told him that I had a condom in my pack. “He said no, and that was the point at which he wrapped up having his way with me,” she added.

During questioning, Imolita said the reason she advised the litigant to get a condom was that she figured it would allow her to get away.

The case was concluded by Equity Ramon Oshodi until Walk 22, 2023, for the continuation of preliminary proceedings, while the litigant was remanded in the Ikoyi Custodial Center.
