I'm Always Concerned That Asamoah Gyan's Weija House May Collapse On Him One Day - Allotey Jacobs

Bernard Allotey Jacobs, a social commentator, has expressed concern regarding construction in certain areas of Accra's Weija-Gbawe Municipality.

Allotey Jacobs is concerned about the location of the houses, including that of legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan, because the area is prone to numerous natural calamities, such as landslides and earthquakes.

Allotey Jacobs expressed concern on Peace FM that the area in question was formerly a quarry and has since been transformed into a human habitat.

He cautioned Asamoah Gyan and his neighbors to be aware of the situation and take the necessary precautions to avoid any peril.

"It began in the late 1980s, and that location was once a quarry. Allotey Jacobs says, "I'm always concerned that Asamoah Gyan and those who live there will be crushed by the structure one day."

Since it was discovered that the residence of the highest-scoring footballer in history is in an earthquake-prone area, it has become a topic of discussion.

Professor Emmanuel Amamoo Okyere, a former Executive Director of the Centre for Geographical Information Science at the University of Ghana, stated in December 2018 that Gyan and the thousands of residents of Weija and Gbawe in the Greater Accra Region should relocate due to frequent earth tremors.

"The residents, including Asamoah Gyan, must contemplate relocating as a result of the earthquakes. We are traveling from residence to residence and office to office to educate individuals on why they should reconsider relocating to other areas.

Asamoah Gyan has scored a total of 51 goals in 109 appearances for Ghana. He is also the African World Cup scorer with the most goals.
