You're sure that someone in your family's death was the perpetrator. But you can't get it even if the law makes a mistake, as it seems to have done here. There's no purpose in doing anything that goes against both divine and national law.
Just imagine if you survived your attempt at revenge and managed to take the executioner's life. What more do you need to get hold of in the end? In the end, will God accept you? How will you ensure your safety this Atonement Day?
Find a means to stop seeking revenge while you're still alive in the name of God.
