John Mahama Thinks Ghana Was Created For Him - Koku Anyidoho Fires Mahama

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, the former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama for seeking re-election.

Mr. Anyidoho, who was voted out of office in the 2016 elections, is vehemently opposed to Mr. Mahama's bid to be elected president and wonders why the former president is seeking to return to power.

He argues that there are spiritual consequences when a chief is deposed and then reinstated.

According to the former Director of Communications for the Presidency under the late President John Evans Atta Mills, Ghana will suffer economically and spiritually if Mr. Mahama is elected.

"You cannot dethrone a chief and then enthrone him afterward. It would be a misfortune, Mr. Anyidoho told reporters.

Mr. Anyidoho's close rapport with former President John Dramani Mahama dates back to their time working under the late President Mills and is a matter of public record.

Mr. Anyidoho, renowned for his unrestrained criticism of the NDC presidential candidate, implied that Mr. Mahama's reelection campaign is alien to the country's cultural and spiritual norms regarding leadership.

"Spiritually, you can only wield this sword, which the president uses to take the oath of office, twice. Jerry Rawlings held the position twice between 1992 and 1996.

"President Kufuor occupied the office twice, in 2000 and 2004. President Mills held the position once before passing away and leaving office. John Mahama, on the evening of July 24, 2012, you took the oath of office while holding the State sword. On January 7, 2013, you held the State's sword and vowed again. You've held it twice," he remarked.

While implying that any attempt by Mr. Mahama to assume a third oath of office would be tantamount to sacrilege, the former NDC Deputy General Secretary added, "Why does John Mahama believe that Ghana was created for him and that he will come and spiritually and physically destroy the nation? It will not and cannot occur."
