Apostle Eric Nyamekye re-elected Church Of Pentecost Chairman

Apostle Eric Nyamekye has been re-elected as chairman of the Church of Pentecost for the next five years.

This historic event occurred on Thursday, May 4, 2023, during the Church's 46th General Council Meetings, when Apostle Nyamekye secured an overwhelming majority of the ballots, receiving 1,255 "yes" votes out of 1,262 total votes cast, or 99.45%.

Apostle Nyamekye was elected as the sixth Chairman of the Church in 2018, garnering 98% of all votes cast, and promptly launched a five-year strategic vision entitled "Vision 2023" with the overarching theme "Possessing the Nations."

Vision 2023 has resulted in the expansion of the Church's ministry scope through the introduction of new ministry interventions such as Home and Urban Missions (HUM), Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs), Chieftaincy Ministry, Chaplaincy Ministry, School Outreach Ministry (SOM), PENSA International, and Pentecost Workers Guild (PeWG), among others.

Numerous unreached and marginalized groups, including commercial sex workers, street inhabitants, drug addicts, African migrants, expatriates, Fulanis, and Kotokolis, among others, have been brought to a saving knowledge of Christ and reformed through these ministry interventions.

Under the able direction of Apostle Nyamekye, the Church of Pentecost has made enormous advances in ministry and on the national and international stages.

The worldwide membership of the Church has increased by 29.1%, from 3,257,699 to 4,203,077, and it has won 1,151,723 souls for Christ, of which 782,557 were baptized in water between 2019 and 2022.

During the same time period, the Church of Pentecost has spent GHS 23,313,518.93 on educational support and GHS 8,132,060.60 on health support for its members.

The administration of Apostle Nyamekye has also initiated various social development projects in deprived communities and institutions across the country, including the construction of reformation centres for the Ghana Prisons Service, of which the Church has completed and handed over two of the five facilities, while the remaining three are in the process of being built.

In general, Apostle Nyamekye's first term has been remarkable, and his re-election as Chairman of The Church of Pentecost inspires hope for what the Lord has in store for His church over the next five years.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E., presented the Church with a national award as well.

In addition, the church played a crucial role in evacuating stranded Ukrainians to Ghana after the Ukraine-Russian conflict.
