On Saturday, May 20, 2023, the former president, John Dramani Mahama, and the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, are anticipated to attend the Maari-Bowu Festival of the Chiefs and people of Tem Awurana in the Oti region.
The festival is observed by the Chief and people of Kue in the Nkwanta South region of Oti, as well as by the Tem people worldwide.
This was stated in a press release issued in Accra and signed by Wuro Adamu Salifu, Chairman of the Organising Committee, with a copy to Wuro Esso, Overlord and President of Tem Divisional Council, Ghana. Dawood Chedre Brenai II, the Wuro for California and Diaspora Wuro for America and administrator for Asia, Wuro Yahya Lumba Sandu, and the Tem Wuro for Hamburg, Germany, and Diaspora Wuro for Europe, Wuro Sakib Abdul Latif, announced that Mr. Mahama and Dr. Bawumia would be the festival's guests of honour.
The festival is organized by the Greater Accra regional chapter of the Tem Awurana Council, under the Tem Divisional Council of Ghana, with the theme "Come Feel The Experience Of Tem Culture And Tradition."
The festival will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Madina Astro Turf Park in Madina Zongo, La-Nkwantanag Municipality, Greater Accra, Ghana.
The statement urged natives of Tem in Greater Accra and the diaspora to attend the 2023 Maari-Bowu festival, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2023.
It added that their participation in the Maari-Bowu festival would emphasize the significance of collaboration and social cohesion promotion among Tem communities under the Tem Divisional Council, Ghana.
The statement concluded by stating that it would be an honor to have Tem Awurana people attend the festival and that it would be greatly appreciated if they accepted the invitation.
