The 80-year-old woman who attempted to stop a fight between her son and his wife has died as a consequence.
According to reports, her son shot her to death after entering the room during the heated argument and returning with a pistol.
The incident involving Wuni Tuunaaba occurred last Thursday in Guabulga, West Mamprusi Municipality, North East Region.
She has since been interred in accordance with Islamic tradition.
Wuni Haruna is currently in police custody.

Assembly member of the Guabulga Electoral Area, Bugri Gabriel, confirmed the incident to Graphic Online, stating that there was a misunderstanding between Haruna and his wife around 7 p.m. last Thursday [15 June 2023].
Reportedly, Haruna's mother intervened in an effort to restore harmony.
Supposedly, Haruna raced to the room to retrieve a single-barreled firearm and fatally shot the mother.
"I received a distress call from a family member informing me that the mother had been fatally shot. "The suspect stated that he intended to fire a warning shot, but unfortunately, the bullet struck the mother," said the assembly member.
He indicated that the suspect has been apprehended by police in order to assist with the investigation, while the deceased has been laid to rest.
