Meet the two twins who refused to talk to anybody for 29 years until something bad happened

Not long after the birth of Jennifer and June on April 1963, the parents realized very weird behaviours in their two children.

Aubrey and Gloria Gibbons had just given birth to the two twins but their behaviour did scare them a little bit after a keen observation.

The two girls had resorted to a silent kind of lifestyle and were not talking to any other person except the two of themselves. Not even their parents could be able to talk to them.

After growing up normally and reaching the age where they were supposed to start talking, it is when they resorted to their silence and that earned them a name called 'silent twins'.

The two girls became inseparable and not only were they not talking to other people but had also developed a language that only the two of them could understand and not any other person could understand them.

According to the parent, they would talk by making weird sounds and that is when their parents knew that all was not well with their two twin daughters.

By the time the girls were in their teenage years, they had fully developed their language of communication and had resorted to things like refusing to talk to outsiders, refusing to read and write and copying each other's behaviour day after day.

To try and tame the behaviour, they decided to take the two girls to two separate boarding schools and that proved to be even worse. They would retire to being alone every other time and they would even stay in bed until several people come to force them out of bed. They finally had to be reunited again.

Despite their silence, the two girls were gifted and being alone they would write plays and fictitious stories and some of which were published.

After publishing a couple of books the two decided to test the world and started taking drugs and even got involved in various crimes one time they were arrested and charged with arson.

They were given a 12 years sentence under a correctional facility that also served as an institution for the mentally ill. While there, June admits years later that those were the 12 years of hell in their lives. They did all they could to come out of the correctional facility including even writing to the queen and also their parents but it never worked.

They were later transferred to Broadmore hospital and before their release, Jennifer died of heart failure. June later told the CEO of Broadmore that Jennifer had agreed to die so that she could allow June to live a normal life.

It was after the death of Jennifer that June opened up to speak to people and now lived a normal life like any other person.
