My wife deserted me for 'our' 15-year-old child's father . Edward's life changed three years ago when his wife deserted him in the United States of America (USA) for another man.
But Edward's brokenness is not due to his wife's neglect. Edward believed he was the father of their daughter for fifteen years. He was to be dismayed by his wife's decision to leave him.
Edward, who admitted to feeling empty since the revelation, shared his tale on Friday on Joy FM's Super Morning Show.
According to him, his daughter's biological father knew about his child and was in continuous contact with his wife.
Therefore, when his life became established in the United States, he decided to claim his daughter.
Edward narrated that it was during this time that his wife conspired with her mother to move to the United States to be with the other man, before breaking the news to him that he was not the 15-year-old's biological father.
"The gentleman in question had relocated from Ghana to the United States after winning a visa lottery and was in continual contact with my spouse without my knowledge. The father was also aware that the child was his. So, when he obtained his documentation and other necessities in the United States, he decided to file for his daughter, whom I believed to be mine.
"My wife then devised a plan to convince me, 'Don't you think it would be preferable to take the girl to the United States, where she will have a better life? I was struggling financially at the time, so who was I to refuse? I drove them to the airport because I believed my wife was returning from a trip to the United States. A month later, her mother called to inform me, "I'm sorry to inform you, but my daughter has found the man who impregnated her, and they've relocated to the United States." The child is not yours,' he recalled her saying.
This news devastated Edward. He discloses that his family and acquaintances continue to encourage him to date.
"It's been roughly three years, and I'm still attempting to return to myself. Three years have passed, and I still struggle to be the man I once was. I have lost faith in myself. Every single item.
"Thank goodness, I have supportive friends and family, and I'm about to begin a new life," he said.
