According to Kwaku Atta Sarpong, the NPP's deputy regional organizer for Ashanti, Chairman Wontumi will focus solely on the Assin North parliamentary seat after delivering Kumawu.

In a phone conversation with Kwaku Dawuro on the Wontumi Morning Show, Kwaku Atta Sarpong stated, "Last night I received a call from Chairman Wontumi and he told me that I only have few days to rest- after we are moving to Assin North."

The NPP's Ashanti Regional Chairman was referred to as a "election winning machine" by Kwaku Atta Sarpong, who also praised him for adopting a strategy that allowed the party to keep the Kumawu seat.

Chairman Wontumi briefly relocated there before the Kumawu by-election to make sure the NPP would accept nothing less than victory.

Chairman Wontumi claimed in a telephone interview with Gordon Asare-Bediako for Movement TV that "I now reside in Kumawu and as we speak I am with the candidate and Constituency Chairman on our way to church."

The Supreme Court has instructed Parliament to remove James Gyakye Quayson's name from its roster of former lawmakers.

In a decision issued on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 by the Supreme Court, Mr. Quayson was restrained.

Michael Ankomah-Nimfa, a citizen of Assin Bereku in the Central Region, petitioned the Supreme Court for this decision.

In the December 7, 2020 election, beleaguered Mr. Quayson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 17,498 against Madam Abena Durowaa Mensah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who had 14,793.
