Torgbi Saba V, chief of Nogokpo in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, has warned the media, social media users, and general public against making disparaging comments about Nogokpo and the shrine.
According to Torgbi Saba, members of the public professing to be natives of Nogokpo reacted negatively to the archbishop's remarks because they did not originate from the appropriate individuals.
The palace of Torghi Saba V issued a statement that read, "It has come to the attention of Torghi Saba V, "Dufia of Nogokpo, the current happenings on social media regarding Archbishop Charles Agyin- Asare and Nogokpo – we wish to inform Ghanaians and the world that we are deliberating on the matter and the general public will hear from us in due time."
"When we arrived at Bishop Yaw Adu's four-wheel drive, Nogokpo, after driving from Aflao to Agbozume, the tire fell off," he recalled.
The Church leader has been subjected to harsh online criticism, including from social media accounts, following the publication of the video that has since gone viral.
In a related development, citizens of Ketu South are demanding an apology from the founder and leader of Perez Chapel International for his sermon that referred to Nogokpo, a community in Ketu South, as the "demonic capital" of the Volta Region.
