According to the National Cathedral Secretariat, the actions of Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, member of parliament for the North Tongu constituency, are impeding the project's advancement.

According to them, his most recent exposé about the foreign registration is influencing the project's fundraising efforts.

Professor Paul Opoku Mensah, executive director, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with Adom FM's Dwaso Nsem on Tuesday.

In his most recent revelation, Mr. Ablakwa accused the Akufo-Addo administration of registering the "National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation, Inc" in the United States of America as a non-profit organization.

The North Tongu MP who traveled to the United States to gather evidence claimed that his investigations revealed that Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah, Eric Okyere Darko, and Dr. Vernon Darko are the governors and authorized persons listed in the two-year report for Domestic & Foreign Filing Entity.

He was unable to comprehend why none of the prominent ministers of the gospel who serve as trustees of the National Cathedral of Ghana were listed in the articles of incorporation and list of trustees submitted to US authorities.

Professor Paul Opoku Mensah, however, insisted that the Secretariat did not commit an error by registering the National Cathedral of Ghana and the Bible Museum Foundation in the United States.

He explained that the National Cathedral's US tax-exempt foundation, known as the National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation Inc, was established as a fundraising vehicle.

Prof. Opoku Mensah stated that the identities of the document's signatories, Eric Okyere Darko and Dr. Vernon Darko, are those of two prominent Ghanaians in the United States who have supported the National Cathedral initiative from its inception.

No one is opposed to Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa's accountability crusade, but they are opposed to his failure to seek clarification from the Secretariat before making his findings public.

The Executive Director of the National Cathedral Secretariat characterized the legislator's frequent use of social media to demand accountability as unsettling. Prof. Opoku Mensah argued that, since they have nothing to conceal, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa should visit the Secretariat if he is unclear on any issues.
