Professor Gyampo challenges the EC after Duffuor withdraws his petition
Prof. Ransford Gyampo, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Ghana, has stated that the Electoral Commission's (EC) decision to withdraw from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries should not have been made.
In addition, Professor Gyampo believes that the Commission should not have communicated the decision to the media in the manner that it did.
The EC announced on Wednesday that it will not supervise the NDC primaries scheduled for May 13 until all associated legal issues are resolved.
According to the Elections Commission, proceeding with the organization of the primaries would constitute contempt of court.
This indicates the election will proceed as scheduled
The Political Scientist stated on Facebook that the EC's initial decision strengthens the perception that it dislikes the NDC.
