Nana Obiri Boahen, a private legal practitioner, has submitted a request to the government requesting that the Kumasi Airport be renamed after Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.
The importance of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's contributions to Asanteman was emphasized by the attorney Nana Obiri Boahen.
During an appearance on 'The State of Ghana' Show on Wontumi TV, he stated that they intend to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's enstoolment in a big manner and highlight the achievements of the late monarch.
He stated that the invitation extended by the Asantehene to attend the coronation of King Charles III is beneficial to both Asanteman and Ghana.
"There are many Kings in Ghana, but Otumfuo was only invited, and I'm not trying to put down any of the other Kings. The Ashanti people and the British share a history that goes back a very long time.
