A portion of the Sabronum youth in the Ashanti region near Adugyama have taken the law into their own hands, rendering law and order an empty phrase.
According to a report by Mallam Yaya of Kessben FM, some Sabronum community gang members have been acting impudently over the past few months.
It is reported that some of the community's elders support the overbearing adolescents.
On every market day (Tuesday) at Sabromum, the gang allegedly sets up a barrier on the main road leading into town and collects money from people before allowing them to access or leave the town.
The lawlessness of the community's youth has instilled dread in the Sabronum workforce, particularly in the public sector.
Recently, the Sabronum Hospital was closed for two weeks after one of the gang leaders, Kwame Nsiah, invaded the hospital to threaten and curse hospital officials for overcharging his wife.
