Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia has announced the demise of his 85-year-old friend, Daari Pogo, in Gurungu Motori, Upper West Region. Pogo was a cured leper whose deplorable living conditions in Gurungu Motori, Wa West Municipality, became a topic of national conversation.
In a Facebook post, the vice-president wrote, "I have received with sadness the news of the passing of my 85-year-old friend, Madam Daari Pogo, a cured leper whose deplorable living conditions in Gurungu Motori, Wa West Municipality, sparked a national conversation and for whom I built a two-bedroom house."
"I praise God for being able to bring a smile to her face during her final years. Bawumia added, "May Madam Daari's soul rest in peace."
