Sam George Breaks Silence On Cecelia Dapaah's Issue , Accuses NPP Of . . . .

A scheme to change the charges against Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Depaah, according to Ningo Prampram Member of Parliament (MP) Sam George, is allegedly being orchestrated by some New Patriotic Party (NPP) high-ups.

According to the outspoken lawmaker, the action is intended to lower the amount of money that has been reported stolen.

After the report went viral on Friday, Mr. George made the allegations on Joy News' NewFile, claiming to have received a tip.

"A senior member of the administration and a senior NPP member made it obvious to us in parliament yesterday [Friday] that they were going to engage in a PR spin and have the charge sheet altered when this topic surfaced.

"The attempt to change it is being made in an effort to lower the numbers due to the seriousness of the theft. Ghanaians should be on the lookout for that. You'll soon see a revised charge sheet, he claimed, with the numbers in question missing a few zeros.

According to the member, the Sanitation Minister's background does not indicate that the substantial quantities of money reportedly stolen from her home are funds she has personally acquired.

He feels that Cecilia Dapaah's decision to file a theft case in court does not validate her possession of the considerable sum.

One accusation of conspiracy to commit a crime and five charges of theft involving sums totaling US$1 million, €300,000, and millions of Ghana Cedis are currently being brought against two housekeepers of the Minister, Patience Botwe, 18, and Sarah Agyei, 30.

According to the prosecution in the case, the thefts took place between July and October 2022.

However, after the police arrested one of the accused, Patience Botwe, after they caught her in their room with a duplicate key and called the police, the Minister and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour, did so in June.

There are contradictions in the stories, according to Madam Dapaah, who would speak on the subject later.
