Sony Achiba makes his return with Memuna

Sony Achiba, a member of Hipdia, has released a new single titled Memuna after relocating to the United Kingdom and going into seclusion for a time.

On Memuna, which features Mr. Prince, Sony Achiba tries to promote local cuisine by expressing a desire for Tuo Zaafi.

"I deemed it prudent to promote our local cuisines, as they are also a crucial aspect of our tourism. As you can hear in the song, I'm craving Tuo Zaafi, a popular dish from the northern region of the country where Memuna is from, which is why I'm requesting her to serve me," he explained.

Sony Achiba was in Ghana to promote Memuna, which was released about a month ago, but he had to cut short his journey due to a call of duty.

"The response to Memuna has been tremendous, the song has been very well received, and I had a lot of people calling me for interviews when I went to Ghana to promote it, but I had to return to the United Kingdom because my time was up," he added.

Sony Achiba does Memuna is written in his signature Hipdia style, which is evident to anyone who knows him well.

The Kwasi Amoako-directed video for Memuna is available on YouTube and other social media platforms, while the song itself can be accessed on all streaming services.

Sony Achiba hinted that he will shortly return to Ghana to perform music full-time, as he did before relocating.

"Currently, I am not a full-time musician, as I am occupied with other things, but once I return to Ghana, music will once again be my sole occupation," he explained.

Sony Achiba commented on the current music scene in Ghana, stating, "I adore the guys, they're doing great. I appreciate their music and can say that this is their moment, so they should savor it.

"Now that they have access to social media, they are utilizing it, whereas we did not have access to social media back then." Again, during our era, it was not show business, it was just the performance, so I would say that the current generation of musicians are doing exceptionally well, and I am so proud of them," he added.

Before bidding us farewell, Sony Achiba expressed his gratitude to his fans: "I appreciate every admirer who has supported me over the past 23 years; I am so grateful, so please continue to do so, and I will never disappoint you.

"I'd like to specifically thank Goodies, Mr. Osborne, Bola Ray, all DJs and radio hosts, and everyone else for their affection and support. I appreciate the acknowledgment wherever I go, he concluded.
