A suspected kidnapper identified as Gideon Zamani has been arrested by police operatives in Abuja while he allegedly tried to kidnap a 37-year-old mom of two in Abuja.
According to reports, the suspect got nabbed on Sunday, the 5th of March, 2023 after he made attempts to abduct the lady, namely Tehilla Shadrach, at a filling station on Airport Express Road close to the city gate.
According to a source who is the brother of the victim, he was in the car with his sister before he stepped out to pay for the fuel they bought.
Her sister was the only one in the car. She was seated in the front seat on the passenger side when the suspect attacked her and tried to strangle her. He heard his sister cry for help, which made him come to her rescue.
“It was my sister’s cry for help that drew my attention. I rushed back to the car and started beating him. The guy claimed that he is my sister’s husband. People believed him and started beating me until my sister was able to speak out that I am her brother,” he said.
He further stated that the suspect confessed that he wanted to steal the car and kidnap his sister if possible.
The suspect was caught with different ID cards with different names on them, but he claimed that his real name is Gideon Zamani, and he is from Kaduna State.
The suspect reportedly confessed to killing people on several occasions.
He was later arrested and taken to Wuye Police Station.
