The three-year-old boy who was taken from his friends before his eyes were gouged out recalls seeing a man with a rod and a red torch in the moments before he was brutally attacked.
On Sunday, doctors released Sagini Junior from the hospital, and police have increased their efforts to identify the strange individual he identified as his attacker based on his brief description.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations interviewed Sagini's family early in the investigation.
A group of children playing outside his grandmother's house abducted the unknown people at about 6 p.m.
His grandma was present, but his parents weren't.
Even though physicians have warned the press that Sagini's eyesight cannot be restored, his fuzzy recall of his attacker hampers the search for the horrible crime's perpetrators.
"Nothing in the sun will bring his eyesight," the doctor stated.
Dr Dan Kiage lamented, "Unfortunately because all the eyeballs were gouged, there is nothing under the sun that can make this youngster see again, no technology or expertise."
Sagini was kidnapped while playing with her siblings in their Marani sub-county, Kisii, home. A grass farm located him.
Dr Kiage said, "The eyeballs were removed using a sharp device like a knife, and the first thing we did was stop the blood and infections from getting into the eye sockets."
Governor Simba Arati signed Sagini's measure into law and pledged to house the infant and her older sibling in his office.
Arati also pledged to generate funds for a shelter for violence victims.
