According to eyewitnesses, a bus traveling from Tamale to Accra overtook an articulated truck, culminating in a head-on collision.
At least three people were burned to death in a horrific road accident between Bonomanso and Nipahiamoa on the Techiman-Tamale highway in the Bono East Region.
A Kia Grand bird bus with the registration number AK 285 -22 and an articulated vehicle with the registration number AS 4766 were involved in an accident on Friday evening, according to emergency officials. Forty others are reportedly fighting for their lives.
Emmanuel Inkoom, the regional fire commander for Bono East, informed Asaase News that both vehicles caught fire following the collision.
According to him, "the situation would have been dire" if not for the prompt response of the Ghana National Fire Service.
The surviving victims are being cared for in a medical facility.
