To Secure My Future I don't Give Small Chance Money - Oheneba Kissi

Oheneba Kissi, a Highlife musician, is the personification of the adage "small drops of water make a mighty ocean."

He accepts the'small currency' he is paid to perform at private engagements each week instead of waiting for the high-paying, high-profile engagements. When such funds are accumulated, they become quite substantial, which he invests.

In fact, he has resorted to this method of generating funds to invest out of dread of falling ill in old age or when he is unable to earn a living and will be forced to solicit funds from the public to support himself.

Thus, the ABC of Love singer is investing heavily in his future, particularly after observing how some of his peers failed and became destitute. He does not want to follow the same path.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, the multitalented musician stated that he was more concerned with his future, which was why he was accumulating all the money he could get his hands on.

"I never refuse money because I understand what it can do for me. I've been able to obtain properties, some of which I've rented out and am earning a substantial income from. In addition to music, I have side enterprises that generate income," he said.

According to him, most musicians preferred the large sums of money from large concerts, forgetting that tiny amounts, when combined, could accomplish a great deal.

"I can accept a performance fee of GH3,000 per week, which amounts to GH12,000 per month. Some musicians will decline this money because they believe it is insufficient, preferring to wait for larger gigs.

For me, it's fine if the big money comes, but I'm also fine if the small money arrives. I was given GH30,000 to perform at the Kabfam Legends Awards, which was a significant sum for me. This does not occur as frequently as the small ones I receive every week. I will urge all musicians to do the same," he declared.
