Yao Wlako, a man accused of larceny in Ho Area 51 in the Volta Region, was unable to control his bladder during his arraignment before the Ho Circuit Court on April 18, 2023.
According to a report by our source, Yao Wlako urinated so profusely that his urine filled the dock and flowed into the courtroom and adjacent corridor, forcing people to exit the courtroom and corridor to avoid the odor.
According to the report, Wlako, a 30-year-old man, and his accomplice Emmanuel Boni, a 24-year-old man, allegedly broke into the home of a married couple in Ho Area 51 and robbed them at gunpoint.
As they were robbing the couple, the two suspects tied them up and burned their corpses with a hot-pressing iron.
They were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery, causing unlawful damage, unlawful entry, and causing bodily injury, but both pled not guilty to all five counts.
According to the case's prosecutor, Chief Inspector Agnes Ahiable, the suspects broke into the residence of the victims and stole a laptop worth GH8,000, an iPhone worth GH13,000, a Samsung tablet worth GH6,000, and a Techno phone worth GH200.
"The armed men also stole a quantity of jewelry worth GH10,000 and a gold watch worth GH7,000, in addition to three other watches worth GH1,800, a high-definition video camera worth GH2,500, and GH7,000 in cash," the prosecutor said as she addressed the court.
She added that one of the criminals left his phone behind following the robbery, which the couple gave to the police when they came to report the incident.
The phone assisted police in identifying and apprehending the two suspects.
