We prepare nutritious meals for students - School Feeding Caterers
Dorothy Ofori Sarpong, secretary of the School Feeding Caterers' Association, has refuted claims that the association provides hazardous meals to elementary school students.
There have been concerns that some of the caterers provide the students with substandard meals.
Madam Dorothy Ofori Sarpong responded to this on The Big Issue on Citi TV with Selorm Adonoo, stating that they do not prepare unhealthy meals for the students and that such caterers would have been eliminated since some of the teachers also ingest some of the food.
She cited an incident in which a caterer in the Ashanti Region was accused of serving tainted food to students, with the caterer blaming the situation on groundnut paste purchased from the market.
Secretary of the School Feeding Caterers' Association remarked that district and regional coordinators of the school feeding program supervise their cookery, so they cook in hygienic conditions.
It was at Ohwimase Anglican Primary School or so, it was broadcast on the radio, so many people raced to her, and she explained that the groundnuts she had purchased were subpar.
This occurred after some angry instructors at the school protested the poor quality of food served to the students on May 29.
