Within a week, another building has collapsed and claimed the life of one person in the Greater Accra Region.
One additional victim survived with wounds.
The most recent incident occurred at Nanakrom in Adentan, similar to the first.
It occurred in the evening on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
Friday morning, first responders from the national disaster management organization were able to extricate the body from the debris.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident in question.
On May Day, a comparable incident occurred within the district, killing one person and injuring three survivors.
Mr. Ganiyu Abdul, the supervisor of the three-story building that collapsed, was detained by the police.
It required a rescue team from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to extricate those buried beneath the debris.
Two of the injured have been treated and released from the hospital.
The three-story building was located near the footbridge at SDA Junction in Adentan.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), one of the building's pillars was crushed by a concrete mixer, causing the structure to loose its equilibrium and collapse.
Following the discovery that the construction project lacked a permit, the contractor's equipment was also confiscated.
