At Winneba Junction in the Central region, a fatal accident took place on Thursday April 6, 2023, resulting in the death of a female passenger and leaving 14 others with serious injuries.
According to ACFO1 John Amalie Amartey, the Commander of the Central Regional Fire Service, the accident was caused by the front tyre of a Toyota Hiace, which was traveling from Cape Coast to Accra, bursting and causing the vehicle to veer off the road into a ditch.
The injured victims were immediately taken to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, the female passenger passed away at the scene of the accident and her body has since been taken to the morgue.
