$2.5m worth of crude condensate missing at TOR – Opoku Prempeh

According to the Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, $2.5 million worth of crude condensate has gone missing at the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).

The Minister had secured a deal for the company in the premix sector, but $2.5 million of the condensate has been lost and left unaccounted for. TOR has over $500 million worth of debt sitting on its books, and the Minister believes that if the company continues to operate inefficiently, it will break the back of the government.

Despite the Minister's appeal to workers to revive the refinery, the General Transport Petroleum Chemical Workers Union (GTPCWU) has announced its intention to embark on a series of actions in support of its call for the revamping of TOR. The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery, Jerry K. Hinson, has warned workers that any illegal strike action or picketing will be dealt with according to the laws.

The Minister has set up a committee to reconcile TOR's losses, but it has not made any headway. He believes that the CEO of TOR should be dismissed if he is not able to make money for the refinery, and the board should be dissolved. He also reminded workers that they pay taxes for an efficient running of the government, and the government is doing all it can to revive the company.

It is important for everyone involved to do the right thing and work towards the efficient running of TOR. It is the responsibility of the CEO to ensure that the place is run efficiently, and workers should not engage in any illegal actions. The government is working hard to bring TOR back to its former glory, and everyone should play their part in making it happen.
