The Agona Swedru District Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly defiling three teenagers on their way back from school.
The incident took place on 15 February 2023 at about 3:30pm.
According to information received, the thirteen to fourteen-year-old students were returning from school when the suspect, who was driving his car, stopped and asked them to get in as he was travelling in the same direction as them.
The young teens in the car were unaware of the danger as they were dressed in their school uniforms.
As soon as they got into the car, the suspect locked the doors, turned up the music and drove them to his house.
When the suspect arrived at the house, he took a razor-sharp knife from his pocket and threatened to kill them if they made a sound.
He stripped them and had sex with them in his hallway, drowning out their cries for help with music.
After placing a talisman on the victims, the suspect, Hamid Nana Baidoo, threatened to kill them all if they revealed anything about their plight.
However, the victims went home and told their parents about the incident because they were bleeding from their vaginas.
He was taken into custody after the Agona Swedru District Police Command received a report of the incident.
The patients were given medical documents and are now being treated at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.
The suspect is likely to be charged next week, although he was later brought before the Agona Swedru Circuit Court on 16 February, but no trial took place.
He is assisting the investigation while in custody of the Agona Swedru Police Command.
