The Accra Criminal Court 5 Division of the High Court has sent Huang Lei to the Nsawam Medium security prison. Huang Lei is the son of Aisha Huang.

Huang Lei is being held until his trial for breaking immigration laws.

He is on trial with another Chinese citizen, Huang Haihua, for staying in Ghana after his permit ran out, having ammunition without the right to do so, and having fake official documents.

Frank Kumakoh, the lawyer for the accused, said in court on Thursday that the prosecution was making charges that couldn't be backed up by the facts. Because of this, he said that his side will soon ask the Court to let the person out on bail.

But Hilda Craig, who was in charge of the prosecution, asked the court to put the accused people in the Nsawam Medium Security Prison while the case was going on.

In response to this request, the court decided that Huang Lei and Huang Haihua should be sent back to prison in Nsawam.

The court also told the Ghana Prison Service to bring the people who were accused to court on the dates set for their trials.

Both the prosecution and the defense have been told to file all relevant documents for the trial, but the case has been put off until December 13, 2022, so that it can be managed.
