In a tragic incident, the Akatsi South Police Command has made a distressing discovery, finding human remains suspected to belong to Louis Agbogli, a 28-year-old motor rider who had been missing since April 21. Louis Agbogli, a resident of Akatsi in the Volta Region of Ghana, was last seen giving a ride to a female passenger on his motorcycle towards the Kpetoe area.

Chief Superintendent Isaac Baah, the Municipal Police Commander, provided an update on the case. He mentioned that Mr. Lumor Agbogli, the father of the missing young man, reported the disappearance of his son to the police on April 27. The initial investigation revealed that an 18-year-old girl named Regina Dagba from Asafotsi-Dagbakope sought the services of a motor rider, presumably to travel to Adetsewui and meet her boyfriend.

Due to her financial constraints, the suspect could not afford the fare, prompting Louis Agbogli to willingly contribute an additional Ghc 3.00 to assist her in reaching her destination. The next day, the suspect contacted the deceased, expressing gratitude for his help, and requested a ride to Kpetoe. Despite warnings from fellow riders, Louis Agbogli agreed to fulfill her request.

However, after reaching Kpetoe, the suspect persuaded the victim to take her to a village called Nyatsive, where he never returned, causing immense concern and fear among his family and friends. Following an intensive search, the suspect and her 20-year-old boyfriend, Etse Datsomor from Adetsewui, were apprehended near the Wute area of the Akatsi-Ziope road on May 15.

During the interrogation, both suspects confessed to murdering Louis Agbogli. With the assistance of Togolese authorities, the police obtained a court order and, guided by Etse, conducted a joint operation between Ghanaian and Togolese officers. This operation led them to a gravel pit site situated between Kpetoe and Nyatsive, where they discovered skeletal remains and a skull.

Additionally, the suspect guided the police to a nearby bush where they recovered the victim's motorbike, which was found close to the alleged crime scene. The skeletal remains will be sent to the Forensic Laboratory in Accra for further examination, and the suspects are scheduled to appear in court on June 2.

This distressing incident has left the community mourning the loss of Louis Agbogli, a young man who went missing while selflessly assisting a passenger. The diligent efforts of the police, working in collaboration with their Togolese counterparts, have brought some closure to this case, uncovering the tragic fate of the victim. The investigation will continue, aiming to provide justice for Louis Agbogli and bring solace to his grieving loved ones.
