Dan Acheampong, who has held the position since January 2014, will be replaced by Mr Titus-Glover. The appointment is effective from 2 March 2023.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover (VOLCO) as Managing Director of the Volta Aluminium Company Limited.

Mr Titus-Glover replaces Mr Dan Acheampong who held the position since January 2014. According to a letter dated 2 March 2023 and quoted by Asaase News, Mr Titus-Glover has been appointed.

The President has proposed Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover for appointment as Managing Director of the Volta Aluminium Company Limited, according to the letter addressed to the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, and signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante.

In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and the company's constitution, "please take appropriate action to regularise the above appointment," the letter added.

Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover was born on 28 August 1966. During President Akufo-Addo's tenure, he served as Deputy Minister of Transport and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Tema East.

He contested again for the position of NPP National Organiser in the 2022 National Executive Elections, but was narrowly defeated by Henry Nana Boakye, who was then the party's National Youth Organiser.

Mr Titus-Glover holds a Master's degree from Warwick University in Coventry, England. He also holds certificates in Labour Studies from the University of Cape Coast and a Higher Education Diploma from Ruskin College, Oxford.

The Ghanaian government's efforts to create an Integrated Aluminium Industry (IAI) in Ghana will continue to be supported by VALCO, where Titus-Glover will be employed.

Ghana plans to add value to its approximately 700 million tonnes of bauxite reserves at Kibi and Nyinahin, using VALCO as the anchor of the project to generate over US$1.05 billion and over 2.3 million excellent jobs.

According to a feasibility study on the VALCO smelter, VALCO will be the true anchor of Ghana's integrated aluminium industry if effectively integrated into the country's economic strategy.

VALCO is currently the driving force behind Ghana's downstream aluminium industry, providing metal supply and all the jobs that go with it. VALCO is also set up to accommodate Ghana's expected growth in the downstream aluminium industry.
