A man has come forward claiming to be the biological father of Ghanaian actor and comedian, Agya Koo, after years of estrangement.
Mr Kwasi Bediako, who was previously a worker at COCOBOD, disclosed in an exclusive interview with GHANA NEWS TV that he had an affair with Agya Koo's mother in the early 60s which resulted in the birth of Agya Koo on May 25, 1969. He stated that he only recently discovered that Agya Koo was his son after seeing him on television and noticing certain traits and characteristics.
Mr Bediako went on to explain that he had not attempted to reach out to Agya Koo earlier because he was shy and did not want it to appear as though he was chasing him because of his fame. However, he is now pleading with Ghanaians to help him get in touch with Agya Koo.
While Mr Bediako's claims have yet to be confirmed, they have raised questions about the circumstances leading to Agya Koo's upbringing by a single mother, as well as whether Agya Koo was aware of his biological father's existence.
It is worth noting that Agya Koo has previously denied claims by a woman who said she was his biological mother, stating that his mother had passed away seven years prior.
The actor is known for keeping his personal life private, but has shared in the past that he used to work as a cobbler in the Asantewaa suburb of Accra Newtown before being discovered on a comedy show.
