According to Mrs Charlotte Osei, a former Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), women who achieve great things and hold important positions receive a lot of criticism.
Speaking at the Women of Valor conference organised by Nana Aba Anamoah, the former EC Chairperson claimed that most of the criticisms directed at women were not helpful but rather personal.
She urged women to persevere and support themselves.
Any woman who does anything remarkable will face harsh criticism.
But you have to find the strength to carry on despite all that, which is why women need to be courageous.
Nana Aba Anamoah's Women of Valour project aims to unite strong, courageous women to share their stories of victory, sorrow and everything in between.
The event took place on 7 March 2023. Under the theme 'Untold stories of courage', speakers included actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, former Head of the Electoral Commission Charlotte Osei, Ghanaian entrepreneur Eugenia Baffour Bankoh, businesswoman and communications specialist Obuobia Darko-Opoku, among others.
