A high-ranking soldier has been taken to court because he allegedly beat up the husband of the woman he was seeing.

George Ngundu, a senior group captain in the Airforce of Zimbabwe, went to see a Concession magistrate because Christopher Makwezva said that he had attacked him.

When his case comes back to court on January 11, 2019, he will be free.

The accused, George, is said to have hit Christopher several times with his fists on December 4, 2019, around 1 p.m., at Valley Shops in Concession.

The State says that the complainant was attacked on the day in question while he was at a school in the same area for his daughter's prize-giving day.

Christopher is said to have seen George at the mall and talked to him about his extramarital affair with his ex-wife Faith Kanyamura.

During the most heated part of a fight, George ran up to the person who had been wronged and punched him several times.

The accuser is also said to have left the scene after the complainant tried to pick up a stone but was stopped by his ex-wife, who pulled him from behind.

After the alleged attack, he talked to his in-laws about it. His in-laws told him to go to the police, which led to the arrest of the accused.

During the fight, his T-shirt was also torn.
