The six people arrested in connection with the killing of a soldier, Imoro Sheriff, at Taifa, a suburb of Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region, have been remanded in police custody pending further investigations.
The suspects, Abubakar Sadick alias Birdman and Samuel Tetteh alias Wiper, were each charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery respectively.
Safianu Musah alias Dayorgu, Ibrahim Abdul Rakib, Yussif Mohammed and Abdul Gafaru Abdul Karim were the other four suspects. They were charged with dishonestly receiving stolen item.
When they appeared before the Ashaiman Circuit Court presided over by Mr Simon J Gaga on Monday, 13 March 2023, all the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
According to the police, further investigation revealed that the suspects, Ibrahim Abdul Rakib and Samuel Tetteh, bought the iPhone from the deceased for GHC300 after robbing him.
Ibrahim later sold it to suspect Safianu Musah for GHC350.
Safianu Musah is suspected of lying about the location of the phone after selling it to Yussif Mohammed for GHC500 and then to Abdul Gafaru Abdul Karim for the same amount. Both accused were quickly taken into custody.
