The Sehwi Wiawso police have arrested 37-year-old Bawumia for butchering a man in Gyapongkrom, a community in the Juaboso District of the Western North Region, barely two weeks after he slashed his girlfriend with a cutlass.
Before murdering Abdallah, Bawumia had butchered his girlfriend, Ama Kobre, inflicting severe cutlass wounds that left her unconscious.
Freelancer Emmanuel Sowah wrote on Onua News on Friday, 2 September 2022, that 48-year-old Abdallah had promised to ensure that Bawumia was jailed for the butchering of his girlfriend, Ama.
Before his butchered girlfriend joined him, Bawumia had threatened to send Abdallah to his grave.
The threats have since been reported to the police.
According to Emmanuel Sowah, Abdallah was returning to Gyapongkrom from Juaboso on 1 September 2022 when Bawumia approached him with a log, pulled out a machete and hacked him to death.
Bawumia is an ex-convict from Bodi who is wanted for other murders, according to sources.
The neighbourhood launched a search for him when he ran away after the murder.
OnuaOnline understands that a police officer went undercover and befriended Bawumia. After luring him to Wiawso, he alerted his other officers and had him arrested.
After investigation, the suspect will be charged to court.
