In a unfortunate incident in Heman, Kwabre East Municipal of the Ashanti Region, a tipper truck collided with the family house of Bishop Daniel Obinim, the Founder and Leader of International God's Way Church, resulting in injuries to three individuals. The accident occurred when the chains connecting the towing car and the truck snapped, causing the truck to lose control.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck, bearing the registration number GR-7137-23, crashed into the house in the early hours of Sunday, May 7, 2023, causing significant damage to two bedrooms where the occupants were sleeping at the time.
Maama Konadu, a member of the affected family, spoke to OTEC News journalist Jacob Agyenim Boateng about the distressing accident. She revealed that her mother, Ama Konadu, aged 63, her daughter, Joycelin Mensah, 11, and another young man named Daniel Owusu, 26, were present in the two rooms during the incident.
According to Akosua Konadu, Daniel Owusu became trapped under the truck, with one of the tires resting on his leg after the collision. The other two victims sustained severe injuries and were promptly taken to Jamasi hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the tipper truck informed us that they were traveling from Wa to Kumasi to fix the vehicle, as it had been non-operational for some time," explained Akosua Konadu. "Upon reaching Heman, the truck broke free from the towing car, and in an attempt to regain control, it crashed into our house, causing serious harm to three individuals.
She further stated that an official report has been filed with the local police, who have since taken charge of the case.
