Chaos At Portugal Training Camp Because Of Ronaldo

Sun, 20 Nov 2022 Source: Club Mate

The first day Portugal spent in Qatar was chaotic. The team will train for their World Cup appearance in the Shahaniya Sports Centre, which is located more than 30 kilometers outside of Doha.

To ensure that Fernando Santos' team is disturbed as little as possible, the Portuguese Football Federation has established a remote camp. At least, that is the plan.

However, the peace in Portugal's training camp has been disturbed by Cristiano Ronaldo's explosive interview about his challenging situation at Manchester United according to Marca.

The Shahaniya Sports Center was in disarray on the first day of press conferences and training.

Hundreds of journalists from across the world wanted to cover the events Portugal organized, but some of them were turned away because their requests to the FPF were incomplete (access had to be requested more than 24 hours in advance).

The amount of media representatives that wanted to enter utterly surpassed the security that the World Cup organizers supplied.

A large number of English-language publications and MARCA were included in the international media pack.

Some Portuguese journalists, who were still outside and unable to enter the facilities, realized that: "Cristiano Ronaldo is to blame for this. During that interview, ". Most people concur that there are not the best expectations for Fernando Santos' team.

The player who attended the press conference was Bernardo Silva, and more than half of the queries concerned CR7. He consistently spoke in the same way: "There is no connection between the information coming from England and the Portuguese national team. I'm not affected by it; Cristiano Ronaldo is. I won't make any comments about anything."
