Chaos In Amenfi Central Over Alleged Approval Of Keche’s Wife?

According a publication by Peace FM Online, it appears that Joana Cudjoe, who is married to the well-known musician Keche Andrew, is likely to receive clearance to participate in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Amenfi Central constituency.

There are reports that some individuals at the NDC national headquarters are working to approve her candidacy, despite her disqualification by the Regional Vetting Committee over allegations of forgery.

Cudjoe is one of five other contenders seeking to challenge the current Member of Parliament, Peter Kwakye-Ackah, in the Amenfi Central primaries.

During the vetting process, it was discovered that Cudjoe's name was not included in the 2008, 2012, 2016, or 2020 voters register of the Electoral Commission in Bantama constituency, despite her testimony that she began voting there in 2008. Additionally, it was found that she only registered in Amenfi Central in 2020, which is below the mandatory four-year period for individuals wishing to contest as MP.

However, the vetting committee, chaired by NDC Director of Communications Kakra Essuman, has referred the matter to Accra for further deliberation and advice.

Despite these allegations against her, it seems that Cudjoe will be given clearance to participate in the primaries.
