Marie-Claire Rupio, the wife of Christian Atsu, has spoken out after learning that her husband was found dead under the rubble of the Turkish earthquake.
On Saturday 18 February 2023, exactly 12 days after he was trapped, Atsu's body was discovered under the rubble and recovered.
Atsu's girlfriend has asked for privacy to deal with her loss following the news that his remains have been found.
The woman, who was born in Germany, posted a picture of a family moment with Atsu and two of their children on her Instagram stories.
She wrote on the picture that she had received many messages but was too overwhelmed by the circumstances to respond to them all.
In a post on her Instagram stories, the German-born lady shared a photo of a family moment she shared with Atsu and two of their kids. On the photo, she inscribed that even though she has received loads of messages, she could not attend to them because she was overwhelmed by the situation. “I see all the messages, but as you all can understand, this is [a] very hard time. This was the father of my three children,” she said.
