GBV is violence that is done to someone because of their gender or that affects people of a certain gender more than people of other genders.
Physical assault is not the only kind of violence against women. It is much more comprehensive and covers financial, emotional, psychological, and sexual abuse.
Physical violence includes things like slaps, shoves, hits, punches, pushes, being thrown down stairs or across the room, kicking, twisting the arms, choking, and being burned or stabbed.
As bad as it sounds, GBV has become normal in South Africa, where a woman is killed every day.
And it is very scary because most of this ladies are killed by their boyfriend or husband, that one thing that is suppose to protect and keep you safe.
This brings me to the woman who was beaten by a man who was supposedly her boyfriend. The man was arrested and given an R500 bail, which caused a lot of trouble on social media.
