Christian Atsu’s Personal Stylist Abiba Locks Sheds Tears In Video As She Recalls Him

In a video, Christian Atsu's personal stylist, Abiba Locks, spoke about the late Ghanaian footballer and the impact he had on Ghanaian society.

The woman began to sob as she talked about how she found out about his death and how devastated she has been since the news broke.

On Sunday, 19 February 2023, she was at the Kotoka International Airport when Atsu's lifeless remains landed in Ghana.

Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu was tragically killed in the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on 17 February.

Atsu, who played for Turkish club Alanyaspor, was among the many people killed in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the region.

In a heartbreaking video interview, Abiba Locks, Atsu's personal hairdresser, described how she was overcome with emotion when she learned of his death.

Speaking at the international airport in Accra, Ghana, where Atsu's remains were taken for burial, Abiba spoke of her close friendship with the footballer and how much he meant to her.

He didn't deserve to die like this. Both on and off the pitch, Christian had a profound impact on the lives of many people.

Atsu was known for his charitable work, which included setting up a foundation to provide access to healthcare and education for disadvantaged children in Ghana and beyond. He was a popular figure in the footballing world, respected for his skill on the pitch and his warmth off it.

As news of Atsu's death spread, tributes poured in from around the world, with fans and fellow players sharing their grief and affection for the young footballer. On social media, Atsu's former team Chelsea, where he played for four years between 2013 and 2017, paid tribute to him and expressed their shock at the news of his loss.
