Marie-Claire Rupio, the wife of the late Christian Atsu, has visited his grave before leaving Ghana with her children.
Last week, the late footballer's family travelled to Ghana for his state funeral which was attended by John Dramani Mahama, a former President of Ghana, the Vice President of Ghana, current and former players and fans.
The player's remains was immediately taken to his hometown of Ada for burial after the service.
A picture of his wife Marie-Claire and one of their sons standing by his grave as they paid their respects to their father and husband before returning to their base was seen on social media.
Marie-Claire's departure from Ghana will undoubtedly spark debate as questions are being asked about how the late footballer's children will interact with his extended family in Ghana.
Some argue that it would be ideal for the Twasam family to make every effort to ensure that the children travel to Ghana frequently to maintain their Ghanaian heritage.
Others believe that if Astu's family doesn't make every effort to reunite his wife and children with them, Astu's legacy will be lost forever.
